WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND POVERTY REDUCTION
Women’s economic empowerment includes women’s ability to participate equally in existing markets. SaferRwanda as a women led organization designs programs and projects that support the capacity building of vulnerable women’s groups, vulnerable teen mothers, cooperatives and continue to work as a women human rights defender (WHRD) in the context of entrepreneurship, and control to land and other resources.
JP Rural women economic empowerment Phase 1
The Joint Programme on Accelerating Progress towards Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment (JP RWEE) is a global initiative with an overarching goal to secure rural women’s livelihoods, rights and resilience in the context of sustainable development, Agenda 2030.
The Programme is Jointly implemented by FAO, IFAD, UN Women and WFP SaferRwanda as one of the implementing national organizations that is in partnership with IFAD focuses on empowering rural women economically from Ngoma district. The JP WEE project focuses on gender equality and women empowerment in climate change actions and environment protection through gender transformative approach of Gender Action Learning System (GALS methodology).
